The Summer "Concerts in the Park" are off to a great start! We had a large, enthusiastic audience for the Coulon Park Concert on June 27th. The Dixieland number was an especially big hit. The Fourth of July Celebration went well, even with the heat!
If anyone took any really good pictures, send me a copy at rentoncityconcertband@yahoo.com Have fun exploring the new website, be gentle when you find mistrakes I made, and we'll see ya on the 29th of July!

July 11th--- I sent out an email about potential concert date changes today, and already have a big response. It looks like most folks are okay with a Tuesday dress rehearsal, since that's what we are being offered by the IKEA PAC. I've updated the calendar page with what I know for now, and will make changes if anything happens.
July 12th--- As you may have noticed on the home page, we just received the new band picture! Bruce Hudson of Hudson's Designer Portraits generously donated his services to get a great picture of the group before the March Concert. Bruce gave me the okay to use a cropped version of the picture for the banner of our website.
If you are interested in getting your own beautiful 8X10 of the full portrait, you may order it through the Hudson Designer Portrait website at http://www.hudsonportraits.com/index.html Wait! Don't click yet! You'll need to go to the Imagecenter when you get to Hudson's site, and then you should see a list of events. See the Renton City Concert Band one? Click on it! Then you'll need the password for our event. I'm emailing that to band members, but remember in Brian Balmages' "Not Afraid to Dream", when all of a sudden Betty had a big loud part that kept going and going? Bruce wanted something memorable for our password, and I immediately thought about that music when we laughed about "more cowbell!" So the password is cowbell. I guess it's not much of a secret, but it should be easy to remember!
